What is Polestar?
Polestar Gardens, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) educational non-profit organization, is actively seeking individuals who resonate with the principles of “Spirit, Community, and Lifelong Learning” to collaboratively build an intentional neighborhood.
The new project is located in the picturesque Fort Collins, CO., on 20 acres, Polestar Village combines elements of both urban and rural living. Our intention is to break ground on the infrastructure and start construction on the living structures and buildings in early 2024.
Our community is diverse and vibrant, embracing multiple faiths. We come together for meditations, enjoy sacred music, share potluck meals, and collaborate on maintaining a thriving organic garden.
Polestar Founders, Michael and Ann Gornik, are lifelong intentional community advocates. Their journey began with a 40-acre community attempt in Kentucky during their late teens. After over 20 years at Ananda Village in Northern California, with six years as village managers, they established Polestar Gardens, Inc., an educational non-profit promoting “Spirit, Community, and Lifelong Learning” for all ages.
Having spent 15 years on Hawaii’s Big Island, Kilauea Volcano decimated Polestar’s 20-acre campus, community, and yoga retreat, including crucial buildings (https://polestargardens.org/volcanic-eruption-and-lava-flow-2018/). Undeterred, in 2018, they embarked on a quest for a new campus, aiming to expand accessibility to others. The search led them to Fort Collins, CO, where they seized the ideal opportunity to create Polestar Village—an inspiring 20-acre walkable “intentional neighborhood” with 144 living units. Enjoy diverse facilities for dining, gathering, gardening, meditation, yoga, recreation, and more. www.polestarvillage.com
